I'm getting ready to replace the electrical part on the steering column. Are there any tricks to doing this job?

    Thanks

i just did this on my '73 grabber. i took the column loose from the dash and let it drop... the switch is slotted so you need to get it positioned so you have full range of the "key"...two (2) bolts and a plug...frank...:bouncy:

p.s. the job for me was getting my big butt between the seat and steering column.:biglaugh:

Thanks I changed it today. It didnt fix my problem and I had two wires come out of the car side of the connector. The wires that fell out were a big black wire and a small green wire. the other side of the connector has a black wire with a green strip. I connected all the wire together and it seems to work. It started and I ran it for a couple minutes.

Back the to reason I changed the switch. The previous owner installed a push button start switch. With the new switch it still wont start with the key. It was an auto car so I will look for the park neutral switch wires and trace the wire from the switch to the soleniod.
