We ran the V/SA Maverick at Martin last weekend and had our first opportunity to compete for Class honours. The opposition was a '68 Chevelle wagon with the 250" six. Won the race by virtue of his foul start - .005 red. We ran all out anyway and it was very close. His 15.709 to our 15.714. The track temp was 132 deg so it was tough on the et's. Next day we lit a red bulb of our own in first round of Stock eliminations. That's racin'!!:drive:

:)We won't get back until 2009. There is a Divisional event at Martin this weekend but the tow/drive is just too expensive. Some of the racers left their stuff at the track and will return, but it is just not in the budget this season. Next year we will try to run at the Milan race as well. I think it's in May. There were a number of Mavericks at Martin - three of us in Stock alone.

Thats cool Dave nothing like a good old class race.Rob is leaving tonight for the race in Michigan this weekend. He said he woulden't be going if it weren't for the Vanni's hauling his car for him in the stacker trailer,it will only cost him $150 for them to take it VS $450 in gas for him to tow it himself.
