I had an agreed value of $5000 last year, Hagerty is suggesting I go up to $6000, but if i am willing to pay more, I can bump it up from there.

Any suggestions on what it is worth, and what I can get Hagerty to agree on?

that being said, just self appraise it at 6500.00 (if your agent is agreeable) ours is.

not to rediculous, but not cheap.

Could you replace it for $6000.00?? Mines appraised at $19500.00 and it's still in 10 000 pieces!!

I was thinking around $7000. It would cost me around $150 per year. So I cannot complain, and would be happy if something bad were to happen. I would go higher if I thought I could get Hagerty to agree to it.

Dave, how did you justify 19,500 to the ins company? Did you make that number up or do you have a parts list showing that you have that much into it?

I don't have that much into it (I hope)
I had a professional appraiser come and document everything, I've also kept all the receipts for everything I've bought and had done.
The appraiser looks at stuff like finding a replacement car, the time it would take, and factors in that it was a original owner California car.
I just payed $220 for the year, for 19500 agreed value, and it's still considered a project, and once it's done it has to be re-appraised for it's completed value, which I've been told should be around $32-35 000.00 (Canadian, which is really close to US)

Anyone with Hagerty think I could get away with $10,000. Taking in to account how much money I have invested in the new rear suspension and more importantly, this new motor...;)

You know, that might be a selling point to them. It is currently not on the road and won't be for a few months. I also only put on average 1K miles a year...

You need to check and see if they will want an appraisal done....or they might want you to submit pictures. Not sure if they would up the value of a car in various stages of primer. My classic car insurance requires pictures of all 4 sides.

Let's see 1k miles. That's 1/4 mile to the starting line. 1/4 mile down the track. 1/4 mile shut off. 1/4 mile back to the pits. Not bad. That's a 1000 runs a year.:yahoo:
