I was looking online at intake manifolds so that I could add a 4v carb to my 75 maverick. I am looking for somthing that I can run on the street legally and pass inspection. I was told by carrol alignment, the place that I get my inspections from that I wouldnt be able to change the intake without passing emission inspection. Does anyone know if they make an edelbrock or any other manifold that has all the egr / emissions for 75 attached so all I would have to do is hook-up vaccum lines? Right now my car can pass inspection with the stock 302 setup. I would however like to be able to gain some more performance and possibly a little better mpg with a low cfm 4 barrel and intake manifold. any suggestions or information would be very helpfull
Looks like I'll have to go with the performer 302 4v (EGR) #3721. I also looking at the 500 cfm carb they have would this work for a little better economy with some performance gain or should I go with a smaller cfm carb made by someone else?
an intake isnt that hard to change, I would just throw the 2v one back on to run it through inspection and change it back. how often is inspection? every 2 years. Last weekend I had to take the 455 out of my '85 cutlass and put the original 307 back in to so I could get it through inspection so consider yourself lucky lol do they have an antique tag program where your at, in DE you can get it and not have to run an emmisions test
I would not go smaller than the 500cfm. Your fuel ecconomy will be the same as with a 2-barrel as long as you keep your foot about it...
