i have a problem, i replaced the windshield in my maverick and was not able to save my "tape" antenna for my radio, does anyone have any suggestions on how to get my am/fm back without installing a visable antenna?
Hey Dan... Did your car originally come with an antennae and you did away with it...or did it never even have one?
I also have mine zipped tied under the dash. When I restored my 67 Must convertible, I mounted it horizontally up under the front fender.
How is your reception? I can kinda see under the dash, but it would seem the fender would block signal signifigantly...
they have antenna boosters that run inline to help boost the signal.. just incase your worried about reception. and some of the newer inline ones come with a powered line so you don't lose the signal. but for a replacement you can always try the junkyard.. also i think i seen them on ebay as well. good luck
The mustang was fine for local stations. I never took any trips with it. I couldnt tell ya how the Sprint works cause I cant hear the radio over the motor anyway. With the motor off it seems ok.
Craig, my Stallion still has the original antenna. I hid an antenna in my 60 Pontiac cause I stashed a cd player in the glovebox, didnt want to lose the nice original chrome radio in the dash. I have stashed antenna's under dashes several times, reception is good. Dan
Get an automatic antenna and you won't have to mess around with any of that. I have one off my old supra that I'll be installing pretty soon. You can get them for around 20 bucks on ebay.
i never had a radio from the factory, i had bought the tape antenna from radioshck, but they have since then discontinued
