I'm still in the process of reparing the wreck damage...had a pretty fruitful day at the wrecking yard got a decent fender, good front small bumper, headlamp bezels, beautiful set of grill turn signals that are destined to become driving lights, several maverick emblems (with posts intact - my wife is very skilled at pulling them), a gas cap (YEA! FINALLY!) oh and a front clip that will provide me a new fender apron and radiator brace... OH! and I couldnt pass up some black interior components - a tucked/rolled vinyl rear seat (beautiful cond.), quarter trim panels, kick panels and deluxe/grabber door panels (they need some love, they were laying on the ground for who knows how long...only one arm rest, tho....hmmm all that for less than about $120 but the greatest find was in near a vacant building in the middle of nowhere...I have found a derelict grabber...it's been picked over, but still has rear spoiler intact, as well as a few trim goodies...I've called every number assoc. with the address/business names/property owners...I even contacted the county to find out who the land owners are so that I can make an offer to haul off the mav (fingers crossed) there's also a pretty decent gran torino there (roller/no engine)...place has been derelict for more than three years...an all the vehicles have 1988 registration A.P. Out
Cool. Always nice to have a good day at the scrap yard. There is an old fun park closed down not far from my house. There is a shell of a '65 Mustang coupe someone abandoned in the parking lot. Still has the original 170 6 cylinder, C4 trans and 7.5 rear. Front suspension, doors, fenders and interior are long gone. I've been trying forever to figgure out who it belongs to...
dont relent, send the vin to the dmv if nothing else. i saw a grey and black grabber in 89 and said to my wife,"I should find out what he wants for that" delayed for a week and on my way home one day it was going the other way on the back of a flatbed tow truck. never saw it again.
