does anybody have a picture of a maverick with a set of 29x12x15 slicks on it. A picture from the side and the back would be a big help. thanks
Well.....I do have a set of 29.5x10.5W tires loitering around here somewhere. Said to myself....."Self, those might look good under that Maverick." Just one of the avenues I'm contemplating with this car.
I have a 4-link set up for it but I don't want to go to big and not to small thought it would look and function well. thanks
On my '75, 28x10.5-15 (not the 10.5w) is ALL that would fit. Those required rolling the inner fender lip, massaging the inner fender wells with "otis" (nickname for a BFM...or big freakin' mallet) and even then, they rubbed every once in a while. Also rubbed the springs at the front side, but just ever so slightly when turning a corner (full spool). A mini-tub job MIGHT give you enough clearance. But you'll have to move the springs inboard of the frame rail. By the time you do that much work you could have just totally removed the entire rear floor pan & frame rails, put in a welded rear frame and your favorite rear suspension...and have enough room for a pair of 16x33's if that's what you want. I set mine up for 32x14's and that is all that will fit. Been running 31-14.5-15 Hoosiers lately, like them better than the 32x14 M/T's. A backhalf is a very easy project. I did it in a 2 car garage with simple tools (welder, body saw, sawzall, etc) and it was my very first venture into a backhalf. I even welded my own frame rails---I wanted to do it all myself so that I had the experience for future projects. Also went 4 link instead of ladders...and I'm SOOOO happy I did.
I sure seem to be getting alot of grief around here lately for not even commenting .... and as for pics of 29x12x15 tires under a mav,.....sorry, nothing that small. and eddie, crawl back under your rock.:evilsmile
