Just bought a 1972 Maverick Grabber. It has a 250 ci engine strait six auto. I want to upgrade to a 302 or 351. Amy ideas on instillation or even it the tranny will fit off the 250? Paid $500 for it. will post pics. I'm only 16 and I'm not sure what the best thing to do first is. Get a paint job, or start on the interior. Which engine would be the best or I mean easiest to get price wise? what would you do?

Welcome to the board. What a steal you got. I would personally put a 302 in it.

Absolutely the first thing: New brakes all the way around. Preferably disc brakes.

Welcome to the board. Definitely, take care of the safety stuff first. A 302 is the easiest v8 swap. Just need to find the frame mounts and stuff for a v8 swap. You can do a search on here for any past threads pertaining to most things. :Welcome:

    Welcome to the Madness!

As stated, brakes are the most important. My workbench served as a brake on my Sprint when I first got it. Luckily, no damage to the car occured, but brakes were the first thing I did to it.
