Might, but most 18s look too big on Mavs, if you don't do it right. The car is so small that 18s look like 22s. But, that is just my opinion.

Do it, make it look good, and post pictures to prove me wrong (y)

You might get more responses if you post apic of your car. 2/3s lowering isn't much to go by

The guy asks a question,, kinda hard to understand what he means, but I will not put my opinion here like others seem to feel the need to. The answer to your question is, yes, with the right tire they will fit.

Yes they will fit. The thing to look or is maybe putting a 18x7 or 18x7.5 in the front & get enough backspaceing to sit the wheel under the car as much a possible. This way when you turn, the tire does not come from under the fender as much. I have 17's with 225/45 & lowered 2.5 inches, and the tire is right at the fender. Less than a 1/2 inch gap from the top of the tire & to the fender. Make sure you get a good set of performance springs the stiffin up the the car too.

    ok

but that just my opinion :D and mutangs and fords and hot rod and popular hot rodding and... ok i'll shut up now. (smart ass remarks welcome back)

but i wil half agree scooper that 18's will look funny on the front cuz you can't get any tire size that will be wide enough to have a decent side wall. but thats "my opinion" not worth :2cents:

but to answer edwards original question you can get anyting you want under it its a matter if it will look right as to scooper to him it does not look right.. too him.... and yes everyone has their own opinion, granted. nor should no one dictate to you what you should and should not do.. heck make a low rider out of it as far as i care.... however i really do belive there is some "standard" to what looks right and what doesn't... as any magazine publisher they are going to feature a car that is not stock to some sort of "standard":p

17's on my now very smashed '74 Grabber:

18's look good if it's done right. 17's I think are the biggest wheel you will "easily" get to fit. My car will have 16's on it when it's all said and done.

Just to clarify, my response was not to be taken as "it WILL be ugly", but more of an encouragement that it would be nice to see someone do it and make it look good.

Maverick Man, are yours 17s or 18s? Yours are a good example and starting point. If he went any bigger than yours, I would fear that the rim would go into the wheel well and then IN MY OPINION it would start to look wierd. Yours still has rubber showing, and therefore continues to have a classy look to it (as you so subtly shared is a common belief, with your resume of references (y) ). I have seen cars where all you see is rim at the top, and, again, IN MY OPINION, it begins to look tacky.

Luckily, there are some on this forum who stick with the technical and provided some hints on how to make it work, whereas I quickly stated that I don't know crap about the front end, and gave an opinion and then...A CHALLENGE.

I stand by it...I would LOVE to see him do it and have it look good :D

Give us pictures when you get it done. I WANT to be proven wrong ;)

You can alway run 17's front & 18's in the rear. I would not go over 19's on the rear. But it has to be lowered with a 4 link for 19's or bigger. If you do go with 18's on the front than you may need to do trial fitments over & over & over. Measure more than once before going with a tire. Look on the company web page to get the size of the tire. The hieght is just as important as the width which is just as important as the sidewall of the tire. I have the formula for measureing the sidewall of a tire so just give a holla if you need some help. I have 6 rim & 3 different size tires before I came up with my current combo.

    just kidding :D

I would like to see some 22s just for the fun of it. Front and Rear. Just leave the rubber off, since you probably wouldn't see it anyway. Take a picture, then put your 15s back on (y)
