Left my push rods in chem dip for a long time....

    So i left my new push rods in chem
    Dip for like a month or more... Are they gonna be okay? I assume they will, there not like stainless or anything.

    Won't hurt the metal. But will kill anything plastic, painted, coated, or rubber. Or POLISHED!!! Especially after that amount of time.

    I used some two weeks ago on my shiny polished Holley Street HP carb and it destroyed the polish and left a gray chalky grime on everything. Ugly, but still seems to work OK.

    As long as it's not acid-based stuff like Ospho. I left some 3/8" x 1" bolts in a jar of Ospho overnight and ended up 1/4" x 3/4" lumps the next morning. :huh:

    Okay perfect thanks for the info. I just wanted to make sure when i started it up with those rods the rods wouldn't just fall apart lol

    lol.. The thought IS funny but don't think it's possible. Obviously you'll want to rinse them out and dry them.

    i have an ulstrasonic with chem dip/wd40 in it for cleaning stuff. ive accidentally left soem stufff in there for months. worst it does is eventually can turn them black.
