I really dont like the way my radio is set in my dash, but it was that way when i bought it from the previous owner. If any of you have pictures of your radios and how they are set up i would appreciate the help. Thanks.
don't have a pic, but mine looks fine .......except for the fact that you cannot see it at all when driving (makes the remote very handy) the cross bar on the comet's steering wheel, my size('bout average) and the way the wheel is positioned when driving straight, the center of the steering wheel TOTALLY covers up the radio faceplate ........ah well, the trials of life .....Robert
I originally had mine in the original bezel, I just cut the center of it out so the a CD play would sit right in it. When you buy a CD player you get the part that locks it in place in the dash and I used that to layout my lines to go by and just cut it out, and with alittle bit of filing I got to fit really snug. But I change that and I don't have pics of what it was but here is how it is now
Yes I know guys I really need to give the old girl a good clean up, but I have a really good excuse, I have been to busy driving it since I got the V8 in there
Does your car have factory air?If it does and you don't care about it working I noticed that the Brazilian mavs have the radio mounted in the middle of the dash where the a/c vents are on ours.I'm gonna do it on both of mine because like comet dad said, you can't see it without taking your eyes off the road & looking down and around the wheel.Even if yours didn't have air,you could cut out the hole and get an a/c vent bezel to trim up the hole around the radio. And it would look kinda like factory, only not really.Just a thought.
heres something simple what most people do. they just cut up the raido face and just put a single din in. i use to have a center counsel made up for a tape player and EQ. but it looked to 70's and since tape players EQ's are a the thing of the past and new head units are fine as a stand alone unit i just kept it simple.
no photo of my radio but i'll just say it was a nightmare to get the old broken stock one out. maybe i did it wrong but it took alot of cutting.
