Hey guys, ive been looking around for a while at how people are building their 302's. Sadly all i can find is magazine builds where people have fuel injected 302s from 90's mustangs.
I have looked at gt-40/gt-40p heads and different top end kits but i want to see if there are other alternatives, i want to keep my old girl carbd!. 5000-7000$ budget over the winter. Any help is appreciated!:):burnout:

Depends on what you want to get out of it. With your budget sounds like you should be able to build a nice engine.

Don't use the -P heads .... the regular GT-40s are OK, but you will never get headers that will work with the later ones. The revised plug angle (that makes them work better ....) gets in the way of available headers.

If and when I do mine over, I am looking at a 331 stroker kit.

I want an engine thats making close to 350hp. im not absolutely sure what the rear end is or the gearing but i was told its a posi/locker rear end. Haha sorry i havnt really looked into it but the guy before me put 14x6 cooper cobras in front and stretched the rims in the back to 14x7s same rubber.

I`d build a 331,they make great reliable power,& last a long time. Not only that,it is pretty easy to get 400 street hp out of them without being so radical that you can`t drive your car & enjoy it.Go to Coast High Performance & look at their rotating kits, cast crank is all you need, get some 185 alum. hds from edelbrock, canfield,AFR or trick flow w/ an edelbrock intake that will fit under your hood,650 carb,a Comp cam to match your set up,headers & your on your way.
