Tony Alva lives by me and has a shop here in town. I should drive the Mav over there and ask him if he remembers his dad's Mav...although he never seems to be at his shop How is that movie? I really have to check it out now.
I'm not a skate boarding fan. I was into BMX and freestyle biking. I still miss my Hutch"Wind styler" best bike I owned as a kid. I started riding motor cycles early too but I did not do all that crazy stuff on motorcycles other than some big jumps. The movie "Lords of Dog Town" was pretty cool but I really wonder if they got away with all that backyard swimming pool skating. I really like how they got most of the original people involved and got their input on how it looked and how things panned out. I would give the movie a B+ overall. Acting was good, the actual skate boarding was not the extreme style that dominates the X-Games today but a prelude to things to come. The story is kind of typical about "poor" people making it and letting it go to thier heads.
Thread hijack -- LOL, the Wind Styler, I also had one of those. unfortunately it was stolen one night at knifepoint.
