Hey folks, New member to the website--love the content! I own a 71 Gabber that I restored 17 years ago. I'm a retired military vet and the car has seen lots of countryside. It's still in pretty good shape and my plan is to upgrade it to todays technology. Looking forward to the interaction and exchange of information through the forum. I feel we don't get enough credibility in the muscle/classic car venue--so a fellow Maverick enthusiast buddy and I plan to make a clear statement in our area. Glad to be part of such a special and exclusive group!! I've posted a picture of car my with this message. Not sure if it's viewable when it post, but if so take a look. AJ McGEE Tampa, FL
Thanks for the welcome!! Hey Folks appreciate the greeting. Right now I have a 302 with 4V heads a holley 600 on a Offy intake with a Ford motorsport 496 lift bump stick. Runs pretty strong. But I also own a 90 GT mustang that I plan to swap the 5.0 into the Maverick and upgrade the Stang to a 351W. But I may consider the 347 swap for the Maverick. My buddy has that in his Maverick and it's just plain mean!! Still thinking...
Old school Yea Rick--I sent it to him last week. He's old school so it might take him a while to come up to speed.
Good to have you here. I completely agree that the body lines of the Maverick/Comet are very nice. Later models had some gawdy trim and other features that detracted from those great lines, but your '71 should look real clean...
Ohh Yeah!! Greetings T.L. I'm with you 100% The pre impact bumper years were definitely sleeker looking. As soon as I get a picture in you'll get a chance to see. Take care
