How is every. I've started to make some head way on my little project, But the guy that had it before me was a fiddler and a bodger. I'm having a few problems with a couple of bit that my chilton manual can't seam to help with. Can you? Its a 200ci 1970 maverick

    1) When driving a long the C3 auto box doesn't seem to change gear. I've checked the fluid levels and there fine.

    2) With the british weather the wings are rotten has anyone fitted or worked with fibreglass wings.

    3) The fuel evaporative carbon filter (or i think thats what its called) is leaking round where the two halfs join. Can it be repaired or is it repair by replacement.

    4) I have drum brakes on the front what other ford bits can i use to make it disk brakes? Would prefur mustang as there easyer to come across over here.

I've got some pics uploaded if you want to take a look.
    Thanks
    Mike

    hi mike,
the trans. could be the modulater valve or the vac. line going to it.
pull the line loose at the tranny. if there is fluid in the line then the mod. is bad.

this wing thing you are talking about i know not what that is...

the canister shouldn't have anything in it to leak...

the disc brake swap...do a search at the top for that info.

    hope this info. helps...frank...:bouncy:

is the canister leaking carbon chunks out or something? if it is liquid, take it off and empty it, run the car for a minute or two without it to make sure gas isnt pushing back up that line. once it is empty and dry, seal the seam with form a gasket and paint it.if gas is coming up that line there is something more wrong.

I will have a look at the canister tonight. Its leaking petrol and a lot of it. Its hard to see but i don't think its coming from the pipes. And sorry i mean front fenders are the fibreglass ones any good?

    Thanks

The canister is supposed to contain gasoline fumes .... not gasoline! Someting is definitely wrong with your gas tank ... must not be getting vented or something. How long has it been doing this?

I've only just got it running. I noticed it when i put it on the ramps. What course of action would you suggest I take. I'm a bit in the dark its my first american motor.
    Thanks
