After two days of heavy rain, the track was ok'd for racing today. After three weeks off, I was chomping at the bit to get the 331 roaring again. Won two rounds and then drew #1 son, Mavman, in his 75 with 418 alky burning windsor. Not to be outdone by a young man and his machine, pushed the "Mont" too far on the line and the big red bulb came on. The yellow maverick and it's capable driver for the last ten + years, went on to send all comers to the house. Also put him in first in points too, ran consistent 7.95/6's all day long on the 1000ft track in Arkansas. 125mph and 1.32 60's. The best part is the car has been built by us, as well as the motor and trans etc. Lot's of work but to see it win time after time, is really satisfying. Maybe I did some good things years ago when I got him started building and racing go-karts and Brigg's engine's. Course the season is still young and anything can happen, but it looks good for another championship with his driving and the Mav that he has campaigned for a decade. Sorry to brag, but that's what dad's do. Oh yeah, I "will" beat him one of these days.
wtg. it's great to have family racing with you. and dad's have a right to be proud. i'm sure you got a lot of sweat equity in that car.
I wish I had a son like that to be proud of, I have all girls and none of them like to race. Well I still have a shot with my 10 year old maybe I can talk her into it. Yeah right. Congrads to the winnnig Combo. Bossmav
Congrats on the wins Todd...the car looks great...leaving with just the right amount of height, nice setup Mavaholic:"Actually that park bench on the rear is a good place for extra weight." Todd didn't mention that's a chromed fiberglass park bench?!?.....only the guys that win can afford stuff like that for there cars
