any one ever install one of those monte carlo bars in the engine compt.like on some of the late 60's mustangs?if so does it make a vast handling improvement?
I purchased a montecarlo bar for a 70 stang.I had to stretch it 3 inches,no biggie. It fit fine after that.It did make a difference in the steering responsiveness of my mav.Suspension was still original components at that point. That could be the reason I could feel the difference.Your stock export braces are plenty strong for a street car.Unless you plan to do lots of wheels up launches the stockers are fine.
Yes. 'Not sure, but it looks really cool. My sub-frame connectors made a more noticeable difference...
You can make the export brace from a mustang, fit a MAverick. Here is an article I wrote: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=25914&highlight=export+brace I got a good deal on 5 of those braces at Carlisle this year so I will probably make a few up to sell. Not sure of the price yet, its pretty time consuming.
I have one of Fan's braces. It does stiffen the front a bit. More important to me...it looks better than the stock flat ones, and they don't nick your knuckles like the flat sheet metal ones. Also, frees up some room under the hood for easier access to engine parts. Just all around a better experience than working with the sheet metal braces. Did mine in just POR-15 and they ended up looking like they were powdercoated.
