monte carlo engine brace bar

    any one ever install one of those monte carlo bars in the engine compt.like on some of the late 60's mustangs?if so does it make a vast handling improvement?

    yes,...and its hard to tell by "feel" alone, but any extra rigidity can only be a good thing.(y)

    what about the export brace? will that fit as well??

    neither fits,......I made my own monte carlo bar, as others on here have done.

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    I purchased a montecarlo bar for a 70 stang.I had to stretch it 3 inches,no biggie.It fit fine after that.It did make a difference in the steering responsiveness of my mav.Suspension was still original components at that point.That could be the reason I could feel the difference.Your stock export braces are plenty strong for a street car.Unless you plan to do lots of wheels up launches the stockers are fine.

    Yes.

    'Not sure, but it looks really cool.:cool: My sub-frame connectors made a more noticeable difference...

    I have one of Fan's braces. It does stiffen the front a bit.

    More important to me...it looks better than the stock flat ones, and they don't nick your knuckles like the flat sheet metal ones. Also, frees up some room under the hood for easier access to engine parts.

    Just all around a better experience than working with the sheet metal braces.

    Did mine in just POR-15 and they ended up looking like they were powdercoated.
