With my 72 maverick I am have the problem that every time I depress the clutch pedal all of my lights brighten and when I ldet off the clutch my lights dim again. I was wondering if you could tell me what would be causing this problem.

Any number of things can cause this problem...loose belt, low idle, faulty voltage regulator, loose and/or corroded wiring and an alternator going bad, amongst many other things...this will give you a place to start checking

check the fuse box at the connector in the engine compartment to see if it's slightly loose. My '75 was...and when you push the pedal down, the firewall would flex just enough to cause the connector to lose connection just enough to cause an electrical nighmare.

Might not be your problem, but it's something to think about. Keep us posted
