got to work on the mav most of the day.there was a lot of drilled hole in the floor pan we welded shut and the seam right in front of the rear seat was seperated.pounded it back in shape and welded it here are some pics. thats me doing the grinding while my neighbor did the welding and pounding. homermav and the purple haze excuse me while i kiss the sky(front wheels off the ground)
Looking good so far. Is there any other Maverick out there from the factory that is this colour? Or do you have the only one.
yeah out in oregon but they painted it blue.tried to contact him but no response.as far as i know its the only one leftand i do plan on repainting it the same color.
Yeah keep it the same colour, i think it looks great that colour and the fact that it is so rare makes it that much cooler.
i can tell you because it was bought by my best freind brand new off the lot in 1971.he went to a dealer in wapakaneta ohio to buy a maverick and this one was special ordered by a lady and when it arrived she didnt like it so my freind worked out a good deal with the dealer and drove it back to his speed shop. then pulled the 302 and drive train.replacing it with a boss 302,4-speed toploader and a nine inch rearend.the rest of its life from 1974 until last spring was in storage it only has 396 original miles a 1/4 mile at a time. i even have the original build sheet.
