I used to have Thrush Turbos. They ran $20.00 each.

I love flowmasters. I run nothing but because of the tone they give but he wanted to go cheap on this one. Not sure how cheap, cheap is.

Flowtech afterburners have a nice Flowmaster-ish sound, about $40 each.Generic muffler shop turbos sound mellow, usually about $50 per set put on around here.

Glasspaks at $20 each. ESPECIALLY if it is a 6-cylinder. Won't sound so VW-ish. Flows are great if you want to spend $80 each, and have 8 cylinders.

The secret is to mount the glasspaks as far forward as possible, and have lots of tube afterwards. It mellows out the tone and makes it just growl a little.

I have had good sounding 4-cylinder cars with cheap 18" glasspaks.

There are some Chinese made Flowmaster copies out now according to my exhaust guy. Says they're cheap and sound just like the real thing.

i run two cheery bombs on my 66 ranchero with 2.5 exhaust and you get a great sound accelerating and backing. be sure and keep them up front as far as possible.

On a seperate but simular note I was wondering if anyone has tried this ...what I want to do is get a flowmaster muffler the SUV 70 or 80 series (I can't remember now) it's 2 1/2" dual in single 3" out so that I can kind of keep a stock style exhaust...plus I'm thinkin that it would also work like a balance tube for the exhaust pulses...ideas?? holes in my theory??
