So we got married this weekend between second and third time trials at a race at our local track right in the pits. It was great! Here are some pictures. Us at the makeshift "alter" Third time trial run Ignore the red light, it was just new bride jitters! It the second time trial I went down the track without my fuel pump on. I almost made it the whole 1/4 before it started to die. I caught it right away so it wasn't too embarassing. Good to see the Maverick whooping on the 'cuda! A couple times we had to repeat our vows as dragsters, etc. would go by. There was a lot of laughing and having too much fun. Too bad I didn't race well, a win could have paid for the whole wedding!
ignore the red light? thats the first thing I saw congrats on the wedding......I would say "poor guy" but having met you I know he is pretty lucky
Thanks for the compliment. Yeah, the worst part about me currently is my reaction times, so I guess I am not that bad.
congratulations. are you guys coming to the gathering or the roundup this year? hate to say it but the first thing i saw was the red light too. no problem though. 2 weeks ago i pulled to the line for my 3rd time trial. they made me shut it off. i got back to the pits and found out i forgot to put the radiator cap back on. after all that i went on to win the race.
If you got to get married, sounds like a cool way to do it. I can relate to the Maverick and marriage, I drove away from my first marriage in my Maverick.
I don't think we will be able to make it to either event this year. I really want to race at Norwalk or Joliet(leaning towards Norwalk) the first weekend and then I have to go to Maine the next weekend. I knew that should have photoshopped the red light out. We are very competitive with each other on the lights so usually one of us red lights when we run together. We never race against each other, just on test and tune nights. Great picture Dennis!
Congrats on the wedding thanks for sharing the pictures, post the date if you come to Norwalk we are about 1/2 hour from there would try to come you run.
We have both types of MOPAR at our house, the kind that I can beat with the Maverick(like the AAR 'cuda in the pictures) and the ones I can't(like the '66 Dart and maybe the T/A). After we finish my real race Maverick next year, it will be able to beat all the Mopar and the Oldsmobiles in the barn. I thought the AAR would make the best pictures for our wedding since the colors are close. It is a cool car, but it is kinda' a pig to race since we kept it stock. Its best time is only 14.0 so far but we will have it in the high 13s by the fall and then work on something more fun.
still, nice looking cars. btw, how's your knee doing. seem to remember you were in a brace last time i saw you. was hoping you were going to be there. i assume the dvm means you are a vet? my 9 year old grandaughter wants to be a vet and she'll be at both the roundup and the gathering with us.
