My son drug home a parts car today, 73 Mav 4 door, 302 auto. Lots of stuff we can use, has the 3.00 rear I was looking for :bananaman , as well as a good front valance  . Bumpers are straight but rusty. Radatior and fan shroud missing:cry: , but A/C condenser is still there, along with the a/c parts in the dash. We are going to try and start it maybe tommorrow if the weather is fitting. No keys, steering is locked, need to know the best way to unlock, break key switch or remove steering wheel? We are going to hotwire it just to see how the motor sounds, and if the tranny is good, then the teardown begins! What parts I don't need I will offer here first, then on ebay. Oh, it's a Kansas built car, Ivy Glow with tan LDO Interior. Other than the seats, I know the whole interior will be for sale in a few days, will post it to the classifieds then. Will try to put up some pics tommorrow, didn't have time to take any today.

put a dent puller in the ignition switch where the key goes and knock it out. then all u need is a straight screwdriver :D

oh, or u could just unbolt the ignition switch (electrical part) off of the column and slide the 'selector' to start it up. either way is pretty easy

Awesome! Have to straight wire it to get it started without the key. Only way I know of to remove the ignition switch tumbler requires the ignition key.

I guess I will pull the wheel off and try to get to the lock hickey. Not worried about the switch, going to just hotwire it, just to see how good it runs. Now I get to thinking about it, I don't know how he got it loaded and unloaded  , it's still in park. No wonder he busted the gear on the winch!

I took a pic thru the house window, not very good but you can see what it looks like. The top is toast, rusted thru where the vinyl used to be. He has got to finish cleaning up that yard! He has got a mess out there!

That's what it looks like, a hurricane or a tornado went thru and deposited the county landfill in my yard!:biglaugh: There used to be a large evergreen bush right there on this side of where the car is, he has cleaned out his pickup bed and a few cars right there, pileing on the ground :slap: instead of in a trash can, picking out the useable stuff. When the bush was there, it hid a lot of stuff he left laying there, now the bush is gone, all that junk showed up! Like sweeping dirt under a rug, it was hid so he forgot about it. Anyway, heres a few pics of the car....

Yeah, but they are ruff. All LDO buckets recline as far as I know. I am going to use the bottom springs out of one of them to put in the set I bought from Wayne that had rusted away.
