Your RPS parts dealer for your area should be able to get you a new one. Chip Crenshaw cameocarclub@yahoo.com (386)740-7469 Or Ray Parish rayzorsharp@prodigy.net (228)623-1650 Another option would be Autokrafters. Hope this helps you.
Ken- Are you going to be doing this yourself or have a shop do it? If you're doing this be sure to mark each bow location...the bows got to go back in the original location. The end are color coded on each end.
Thanks rthomas771, Yes, I am thinking about doing this myself. I bought the car to use as a learning tool. I will take any advice I can get. The color coated bow ends helps. What else do I need to know? Thanks, Ken
Let the head liner cook in the sun for a few hours before you install it,Get all the wrinkles out before you install it.If you dont have a heat gun or small steamer get one for the install(good for stretching and removing wrikles that form during install)Get a helper, you will need the extra hands.Use a good adhesive. And dont forget to pull the window glass (windshield/backlight)The head liner tucks under the weatherstripping.
Make sure you take note of what hole each bow came out of, there are 3 holes on the drivers side for each one.
I know what I want to know...The color code. I think all bows will have yellow paint on the passenger side but the driver side is different. Let me know what bow has what color. I did the head liner on my Falcon and it has a cloth headliner. I never done a vinyl liner yet. The bow next to the backlite glass will have 2 small wires wrapped around the bow and the other end of this wire is inserted into the metal above the glass to keep the bow from rolling over when you pull on it, so start at the back and work to the front. After you get all the bows flipped up in the correct position then glue the ends under the glass weather stripping while pulling the headliner to the doors. This is when I sprayed water from a bottle and got the hair dryer to shrink the liner. When you get everything done then go back and cut out for the dome light last. Finding the screw hole for the coat hook is not fun. Be sure to mark a reference point on the window to remember were it will be hiding.
Been coming here for years now and I have not heard of starting in the rear. I havn't asked that exact question, but I have inquired about doing it in general. Thanks for the heads up, I am doing this real soon.
This is from my Falcon shop manual. Save it or print it. http://1bad6t.com/extra/shopmanualheadliner.jpg
You might have your settings to auto resize...Left click the image and it should get big enough to read
Put all the screws for all the hard ware/coat hooks in before you install the head liner. Then all you do after its installed is find the screw heads and turn the screws out through the headliner with a sharp phillips screw driver(trust me its ALOT easier this way)and you wont have to search for the holes.
