I recently bought a 1976 Maverick for $350. It is my first car and I love it. Problem is, there are many problems with it technical and otherwise. I will make a list below. This thread is basically asking for parts/help/references, from anyone or anywhere I can get it. Also, Im trying to decide if Im able to (semi-cheap) fix it up, or if i should just try to recover my investment. If theres ANY way you can help at all, its much appreciated. Thanks!

    Technical
-Cracked exhaust manifold, cut off and pinched smog tubes (and a hole in it as well), and no muffler.
-Alternator/wiring problems in Engine bay and passenger compartment
-Lots of rust in entire floor pan and trunk area (basically a huge hole under front passenger, and smaller holes everywhere else
    -No air cleaner
    -Inoperative AC

    Cosmetic
    -Dings in windshield
    -Cracked/destroyed dash
-Needs new paint int. and ext. (not to mention small rust holes in ext.)
    -Possibly new bumpers and hood
    -Dynamat and carpets
    -Needs new dome light bulb

i would have to say the worst thing is going to be the rust. if you don't have the ability or the funds to have some one else fix it, it's going to cause you greif. but this could be a great learning oppertunity for you.

I do have a friend's step dad who can fab and weld, but I'd have to pay him, and pay for material. Not to mention the difficulty of location (she's sitting in a parking lot near my house with no electrical outlets or anything around. I could move her closer to my house, but then it would be slightly difficult to see in the shade of the apartments.) Thank you for the words of wisdom.
