i have a 71 grabber with a 3speed manual tranny. im wanting to change the oil in the tranny. i was under the impression that the drain and fill plugs would be on the same side of the transmission, one high up one down low, yet i cant seem to find em. there is "square" looking bolt head on the passenger side of the tranny would that be one of em? could anyone help me with this, I wanna learn work on my mav by myself but have no one to teach me the basics. and how many quarts would i need. i bought 2 would i need more?

There should be two with square heads. The lower one will be the drain and the upper the fill. Two quarts should be more than enough. Just fill it until the oil just starts to run out the top fill hole and you'll be just fine. If you want to avoid a fight get a long chunk og clear tubing fill it from above, much easier that wayeven more so with a friend to help.
