Sounds like air in the hose. Losen up the heater hose clamp and the air lock will bleed out. Just remember to tighten the clamp back up when you are done.

Paul; take a look at the switch unit, and see if the cables might have slipped off of the vacuum door on the heater plenum. Sometimes that will happen, and you will get no heat out of the ducts. BTW, does it work in defrost??

Since you said there is no heater control valve, feel both heater hoses when the car is at normal operation temps. They should be too hot to hold. If so its a ducting problem. There are flaps that direct the air to blow either through the evaporator coil or heater core. Chances are yours is stuck in the AC position.

    oohh

fordman, does the heater hose arrangement make a difference? I wondered that when I replaced my hoses because the heater control valve I used was not stock....for a ford ranger..... and the vacuum line was short and in a small bind. I didn't swap the positions, but I wondered if that would make a diff.......Robert:confused:
    ps heater works fine
