My 72 maverick has no heat. I put a 195 therm. in it and a new heater core the heater hoses get warm but that is it. There is no heater control valve. What could it be thanks any input.
Sounds like air in the hose. Losen up the heater hose clamp and the air lock will bleed out. Just remember to tighten the clamp back up when you are done.
HEAT There is no air in the lines and the heater core is new.Someone replaced all the a/c stuff under the dash that was not to smart as to what they were doing. But i should still have some heat.Just thought someone may have had the same problem.Thank you for the information.
Paul; take a look at the switch unit, and see if the cables might have slipped off of the vacuum door on the heater plenum. Sometimes that will happen, and you will get no heat out of the ducts. BTW, does it work in defrost?? Earl
Since you said there is no heater control valve, feel both heater hoses when the car is at normal operation temps. They should be too hot to hold. If so its a ducting problem. There are flaps that direct the air to blow either through the evaporator coil or heater core. Chances are yours is stuck in the AC position.
oohh fordman, does the heater hose arrangement make a difference? I wondered that when I replaced my hoses because the heater control valve I used was not stock....for a ford ranger..... and the vacuum line was short and in a small bind. I didn't swap the positions, but I wondered if that would make a diff.......Robert:confused: ps heater works fine
I might just need the box i like driving my mav. more than any thing i have. With no heat it is just not an option. How much for the box?

No heat and no wipers you are up the creek no matter what.Did you fix your heat and if so what was wrong with yours.
