I have a 1970 inline 6 (170) three on the tree. My shift collar broke and the damn pot metal won't weld. So I bought a "universal" three speed floor shift. Turns out the piece of junk doesn't even fit. I'd like the keep my same trans cause there's nothing wrong with it but at this point I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions?

you have to preheat pot metal to weld it once you do its weldable. take it to a good welder i bet for $20.00 you'll get it back done.

I had a buddy try to weld it and it's not even close to the original shape. What can I do from there??

He emailed me. He needs one one for a 1969 1/2. Frank's will not work for a 1969 1/2.
