i got my new carb on my car friday and the engine seemed to be idling to high so i adjusted it and the car was running great all saturday but today on my way to school i could hear the engine not getting enough gas and the car all of a sudden shut off and it started up again no problem but when i tried to pull a U-turn to park on the other side of the road the car shut off again but this time it wouldn't start again. it just kept turning over but not firing so i had to get out and push it while my sister steered the car. this happened at about 8:00.
then later that day during my lunch period me and a couple of my friends went out to tinker with the engine. at first my friend thought it could be the sending unit or the fuel pump but when we tried to start the car it started up fine but it still sounded like it was getting enough gas. this was at about 12:15
then i got a ride home from school since i didn't want a repeat of what had happened in the morning. when my dad got home we went to go pick up my car and the car started up fine but still sounded pretty and so we drove the car home but if i was at a complete stop for a long enough period of time the engine would just cut off. this was at 7:45
i know that the carb itself is not the problem but i think i might have it hooked up wrong and im also pretty sure that my timing is off. ill take some pictures of my carb setup later, i just really don't want to have to get a ride from my mom in her mustang convertible.
