I am almost finished cutting out the back of my 75 mav, so i can install my elliminator II 4 link. One question that i have is the car was the original big bumper car that i am going to convert to small bumper. The very back crossmember thats part of the tailight pan looks like a bunch of steel sheets sandwiched together, ? Is that any different on a small bumper car. The reason i am asking is it has a little rust on it and i was considering cutting it out and replacing it completely with a piece of steel that is a little stronger. Is that going to be more of a pain in the butt. I am a great fabricator but i cant really find any info on what the small buper crossmember looks like. Any help would be great.

not sure if my answer will help but there is no rear bumper cross member.....so to speak.....the small rear bumper brackets bolt up thru the tail light panel and on the inside of the trunk there are braces that the bolts go thru and they are welded to the inside of the panel and trunk floor/rear frame rails.....
