I've been debating all winter to lower my front end or not. I currently have 215/60/R15's on the front. I'd rather get some more feedback before i settle on anything. Thanks!
If you have been debating about lowering it you will probably not be happy until you do it. I think it would look nicer with it lower. No ill effects of doing it and can always be reversed I am in the same situation as you mine sits really high in the front as well, I just recently bought a spring compressor that doesnt scare me to use so I will be lowering mine as well
The front of that car is waay too high. Look at all the space between the wheel arch and the top of the tire. Cut one full coil from your springs and it will look great.
Cutting the coil spring off at the bottom will lower the car. Most often, the amount cut off is expressed in "number of coils" (i.e. 360* or directly above the end of the spring would be "one coil") In response to the OP's question, I wouldn't see anything wrong with cutting one full coil off the springs. If you're timid, and have some time, you could always do it in 1/2-coil increments and try it as you go... The other option would be to put more tire in there...
Is this the stance of the car right now? I think if you lower the front, then the rear will be way too high. I like the stance of your car right now. If you lower it...the entire car will need to be lowered to look right.
That car sits like a 4x4. The whole thing should be lowered. If someone wants a 4x4 Maverick, they should get one of those newer "Maverick" SUVs. These (70-'77) are cars, and they should look & handle like cars.
I think if you lower the front, you will need different wheels/tires. Plus the rear will look to high, so you will need to lower that....and that will also require different wheels/tires.
