The carpet in my 71 Grabber was thrashed, so I took it out and dumped it. But now my interior is purty ugly (go figure), and I can't seem to figure out what to do. Is there a carpet kit available? Or what else should I do? Help?  -David
Sounds like a good tip. Thanks. Oh, and how's your NorCal Mav Owners List coming Corbin? Do you have anybody else on there that is located in Placerville? Because I know that there are at least two other Mav/Com's in my town, but I don't know if they've found their way here. -David
It's comming along pretty nicely, but not many new names have been added. I'll check for some around you and let you know. -Corbin
That brings a question to mind. I have a '69.5, and never had the original carpet. Is it the loop style or the cut pile style carpet? Thanks,
Well as far as I know, the mats are supposed to come in the stock colors. But it'd probably be a better idea to check it out for yourself if you're interested. -David
My carpet was two pieces so the ACC is definitly not stock style. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=8370&highlight=carpet BTW .. I have contacted ACC and they do not make a two piece for the Maverick.
I have black loop carpet from ACC and I think that it is very poor quality. Just my $.02. But, hey, I'm kinda picky. Seth
I got cut pile for mine, and it turned out ok. I believe that the loop style goes up until around 74-75 and then supposedly they changed to cut pile. I don't know if that is true, but it's what I've heard. I prefer cut pile, myself. -Corbin
I got ACC blue loop in the Sprint and am very happy with the look and fit. I also have blue cut pyle in the 77 and ditto on that.
I hate to say it, but I have absolutely no idea what the heck the difference is, or even the specifics of either one. -David
My '74 had cut pile from the factory. I think loop looks better in cars, so that is what I bought. Picture the difference as this. Cut pile you could comb through like the hair on your head-unless you are like me and that takes less time these days. Loop pile means the fiber is woven together in loops. It would snag a comb. Does that make sense? Seth
With loop, when you try drilling a hole through it and your floor to mount a shifter boot, it will catch and pull a fiber untill you have this neat racing stripe going across your carpet.
