New Maverick from Washington, DC and I'm hoping this forum is the resource that will help me get this car to daily-driver status in short order.

Just purchased: '75 Maverick w/ a rebuilt 302 & C-4 transmission. Front brakes to disk, trick coils up front, and 8.5 rear.

Going to pick it up this week, but the car has NO interior. Ultimately, I'll put buckets in the front (and I've seen quite a bit in the forums on that), but I need something to bolt in there to drive the 3 hours from where it's located.

How much salvage yard success will I have looking for seat & belt to bolt in for the trip back to the garage? Any suggestions otherwise (towing is just too much)

    :tiphat:Welcome!

Not sure what seats would just bolt in. As far as I know Mav/Comet seat tracks are kinda unique.

Are you close to DC? Where is the car located? I have a truck and trailer and I'm on the eastern shore. If you are headed this way, let me know if I can help.

    Thanks for the welcomes, all.

Rusty, thanks for the offer. I'm in Silver Spring area, but headed up to Central, PA to pick up the car, so I don't know that you'd want to do that drive. You ever have any luck w/ parts at a "Crazy Ray's"?

first off i dont think that the fuel pump being up front will keep it running if at high revs for a long period of time because the pump is suppose to push the fuel not suck it

i know this because my pump went out and i put one up front to get it home and it looked just like that one and it didn't want to stay running when i would get on it getting on the freeway

    and always:tiphat: WELCOME :tiphat:

I've never seen that many Maverick/Comets in one yard like that before. I'm used to 1 or 2 or none.

    Howdie there, from Kansas:tiphat:
The seats could pose a very serious problem, which leads to to topic two, maverick parts are hard to come by (or at least in Kansas and Missouri they are)

so... I wish you the best of luck

1 tip. if you are going to buy a 35 year old car as a daily driver you should really invest in a truck and trailer or at the bear minimum AAA.

My trailer has saved me and my friends so many times and it also helps when purchasing a car.

twice offered $300 for a car that the asking price was 6 and both times the only reason they took it was because I had the trailer and would get the car out of there that minute.
