Hey guys, here are a few pics of my latest Grabber. I thought I'd throw in one before pic just for kicks. Tell me what you think about the louvers. I haven't mounted them yet, they are just sitting in place. I'm going to paint them before I install. I'm also going to put on a set of black Grabber stripes as soon as I buff her out...hopefully in the next week or so.

Looks great! Love the gas cap. Always wondered how one of those would look on a Maverick.

Very nice Ray.......this one is kind of a twin to the red one......us folks here in KY. would call it a Cardinal car and a Wildcat car.

That looks awesome. Love the louvers. Am I mistaken or is the cowl area welded shut?

If Ford made a Maverick that looked like that, they would still be selling them today. Very cool, 3 nanner guy's! :bananaman :bananaman :bananaman

Thanks for all the kind words guys. It's comments like that that make all my efforts seem even more worthwhile. This was a three month restoration which of course I'm still not finished with but at least I can drive it like it is until I do get it completed.
The tail lights do get an awful lot of attention, which of course was my intention. I always loved the 68 Shelby and when I saw a photo posted a while back of a red Mav with this setup I knewI had to do it. I also put a sequencer on them so they blink like the Shelby's and Cougars...really neat. The sequencer was only about $70 also. The gas cap is 71 Mach 1 and just seems to go along with the entire panel.
John, I have had several people ask me if this was the red car repainted. It does look similar but the main differences is the rear of the car and the drivetrain. I built this one for ME to drive instead of my son so this one is far from stock. :)
MapleMav, it's just an illusion. The cowl is still louvered as it came from the factory.
DMHINES, since you didn't like my rear louvers I just went ahead and threw them into the dumpster. Yeah...whatever!!! Oh yeah, I like what you're doing to your 74...looks great. But you know what? That red 71 looks like crap! I could probably help you unload it if you wanted to. Hmmm... might be a nice addition to my 71 Grabber corral. Actually my wife is asking for one so I might just have to go for one more.
Anyway, here's a shot under the hood in case anyone wants a peek. Thanks again for the comments.

Fearmont, I was thinking the same thing but I've always loved the Grabber blue so this decision was made a long time ago. It doesn't bother me for some other people on the board having one or even seeing the ones on eBay. There is nothing like it anywhere close to where I live so it's like a one-of-a-kind here and it gets the attention that I was after. I would say do it like you want and be happy with it. :)
