Who has installed a Tremec transmision in their car? What issues did you run into, (like did you have to trim the tunnel, did you have header issues, were you able to use a cable clutch?)?
    Thanks

Well, I guess we will find out, I am going to attempt it. I will take picture and keep you informed as I get along. I am pretty sure I will have to fabricate a new tunnel so I have purchased the metal and will start forming this weekend.

Is your Maverick a 1970? The 70 has a small tunnel anyway and I had to do some "adjusting" just to get my toploader to fit in it. The tunnels in 71 and later are larger but you're replacing it anyway.

Save some pictures for us :thumbs2:

Well, you're dealing with the smallest tunnel a Maverick had. I know nothing of the size of a Tremec but you might be right in replacing it then.

You might want to look at putting some sort of bracing in under the floor between the rockers. The original formed tunnel is a large piece of the strength built into the floor boards. Now you'll be replacing it with something that will only screw into place. :tiphat:

Yes I plan on bracing it. I also will be welding the new metal in with the only screws used for a couple of trap doors.

    Good thinking :bouncy:

The only reason that I mentioned it was I only cut 2 inch wide slots through my floor boards for my 2 x 2 sub frame connectors and you couldn'nt believe the flex in the floor from just that. I couldn't imagine having the entire tunnel out.
