    Hello all!

My name is Rusty, and I just stumbled across this website! This is outstanding. I have owned my 1973 Comet GT since I was 15. I restored it during my highschool years. I have already been taking notes on alot of the discussions here.

I have plans for the 'ole Comet, which include a 5.0L fuelie, 5 sp, supsension, the works. I enjoy the old car with new technology routine. I am currently stationed in Korea (Army), but when I get back to the states, the Comet gets some tender loving care.

I have attached some pics. I cant wait to start the project again!

Welcome aboard Rusty. Glad to have you here. That is a beautiful Comet. I love the way the black bumpers set off the paint and stripes. Good job.:)

Yup, those sure are ranger wheels. a buddy bought new wheels and tires for his Ranger, so my dad took the 31" tires and I got the wheels. perfect fit. notice the custom center caps? I could not have the ford oval on the merc wheels, so I made "GT" center caps.

    Corbin,

Hood mounted tach was a must. This was my first car and I had two rules. 4 Speed and Hood Tach. If I remember correctly, JC Whitney carried the one I bought.

oh, and I am from the Eastern Shore, Maryland. Been there?

Sweet! Nope never been to Maryland, but maybe sometime. :) I know there are a few other Mav and Comet people in Maryland on here that would probably love to meet you and check out your car. Good luck with everything!

Very nice car!!! I like the way it all fits together, can't believe no one mentioned the grabber rear spoiler on the comet. It improves the looks in the same way. mercgt73, WELCOME to the board.
