Hey everybody! Gotta say I love this site so far. I'm in the process of moving, but once settled I plan to start hunting for a new toy. I'm trying something different as I have little experience with Fords. I've mostly done GM stuff and one Mopar, so this will be a learning curve for me. I do have a question to start off with. Are there any potential trouble spots to look for when purchasing a Mav or Comet in the way of body rot and such? Aaron
Welcome, and you won't be sorry for leaving the dark side.:evilsmile There are a few areas to look at. The floorpans by the drivers and passengers feet caused by a rotted or clogged area under the fresh air vents in the cowl. Of course there are the usual places, behind and in front of the rear wheel wells. Just depends on where the car is from it seems. There are alot of great people and info here, enjoy.
welcome to the board. when looking for a maverick one thing i would do is take a gallon of water with me and pour it down the cowl vents in front of the windshield. check to see if any comes out onto the floor inside of the car. it should all go down the drainholes to the ground. this is about the hardest fix on the mavericks.
