Hi All: I'm a new user to this forum. Just bought a 72 Comet 250 6 2dr. I bought a New 70 Maverick in 1970 and dollar for dollar, it was the best car I've ever bought. In 1977 I got rear ended in NY and the Car was totaled. Hated to see it go.

I'm in Az now and my Comet needs Emissions testing to get regestered. The way it ran and a compression test confirmed it needed a rebuild. Didn't want to rebuild the 6 so got a 351W from a wrecking yard to build. While checking for fit, realized stock exh manifolds wouldn't work w/out modifing Shock Towers, Also the 6 Motor mount recepticals were too far forward to make this work.

Being somewhat impatient and under a time frame restriction, I decided to sell the 351 and rebuild the 250 which will be a straight forward deal. The V8 will occurr later... jnord

welcome aboard neighbor, i live about 50 miles north of tucson in arizona city. exit 200, I-10. how long have you lived in tucson? i've been here about 13 years. i've got a 71 grabber that had a 351w until about a week ago. i also have a 73 with a 250-6. i'm putting a 302 back in the 71. unless you modify the shock towers you'll have a lot of headaches with the 351w and the 302 can be stroked to 347. i race the 71 at southwestern international raceway in tucson. probably won't have it ready for next weekends race but hope it is finished for the race at firebird in phoenix the following weekend. there are a couple of others from the tucson area that get on here once in a while too. anyway welcome to the board and fire away with questions as there are a lot of knowledgeable people on here and can even get you some parts if you need them.:)
