Hi everyone. I've been lurking here for a while and I got tired of reading......

    "Hello quickshift,
Our records indicate that you have never posted to our site before!"

.....ssssooooooo I figured I'd say hi and look forward to some info that is exclusive to Comet/Maverick builds (noticed how I said Comet first :D ) I used to race my Comet back in the mid 80s as well as some local cruise nites but all that took less preference as there were kids to raise as well as two business's to manage. I'm now retired and after building my 84 Cougar to the point that I can call it complete ( ya right, we all know that these toy's are never complete.) I plan to return the Comet to street only and hopefully bring my son on board during the transformation process. I'll try to post some pics when I see what the requirements are as far as size etc.

PS: I may try a few pics now in this post.

I'm in Simcoe but right now even with the 31" Pro-Tracs , the 5.43s it make long distance cruising a little bit of a challenge. However, it's easier than with the 6.00s/spool I took out to make it street-able LOL. IF I get my Liberty top-loader changed over to a T-5 or TKO in time, I would really like to attempt it. Thanks for the invite.:tiphat:

PS: Thanks to Craig as well for the Dearborn invite.:Handshake

Totally understand the gearing problem. I run 462's. Don't worry about bringin the Comet. Just bring yourself, son, and a bunch of pictures. We all love pic's and don't forget we all tell little fibs:biglaugh:. tHIS IS JUST USUALLY a lunch thing to help break-up the winter blues.Usually too much snow to even think about driving the cars. A few crazy guys had their classics out this last weekend,as no snow yet in oshawa.

Welcome. I work up the street from you in Brantford. We just hired a Simcoe boy actually. I'm through there every once in a while. Last time was at the fair. Also if the boat needs some work it comes to Proctors. Friend of mine owns a Pub in Simcoe. Simcoe arms.
I plan on heading to Detroit this year. We have Pete from Buffalo and Dave in London that went together last year. Maybe we can arrange something. I thought I would have issues with the 4:11's......5:43's oh boy. :)

Welcome to the board. I'm surprised I haven't seen your car around. I'm from Port Dover. My car is still a jack stand racer, in case your wondering why you haven't seen mine. Retiring this June, so hopefully it won't be too long. If you're interested in going for coffee, send me a PM with you phone number. Maybe we can help one another out with locating parts or what have you. Take care. John B

:Welcome: from Michigan. Nice cars! I don't see very many Cougars like yours around much anymore. I wonder if Mercury's will become more collectable and valuable since they don't make them anymore.

Very nice Comet - I really like the "old school" look to it - I'm a real sucker for Cragar S/S wheels :thumbs2:
