Well, it would take way way way too much time, but a whole lot of crap went down at the resto shop doing my maverick. Bunch of illegal stuff, theft etc.

The shop is now going under, and I learn today the mav MUST come home asap.

For those of you who followed along, this is my 72, and I dropped it off in 2006 for a complete bottom up resto.

I spoke to the dude at the shop and it sounds like my mav will be ok till I get there to pull it out *maybe tomorrow*

It's 85% complete. what didn't get done?? the undercarriage. they were supposed to spray it with a durable liner. Also, the glass...that's still out. additionally, they were to repair the 1/4 in a spot I wasn't happy with (body work thing)...and they had to wet sand and buff the paint still.

the good news is they filled 85% of their obligation to me. Body work has been done, and done right, and a kick ass paint job is on the car. I'll have another shop wetsand and buff it. WHere I really got screwed is they were supposed to send the metal out for re-chroming...which I'll have to do on my own.

the good??? I told him verbally to UP my paint job to a higher quality two stage, instead of the real good one stage I was going to get initially. It was going to be another grand for that, which I won't have to pay now.

In the end, financially I guess I broke even.

the bad??? I here a LOT of stuff was stolen from their place, and there is a damned good chance that a lot of my mav stuff was taken (bumpers, seats, etc)...however the fact that they needed re-finishing leaves me to hope that crap is still there.

as well, the new owner says he'll give me a complete free drivetrain from one of their extra fox mustangs back there, so that's gonna be nice.

ANYHOW, she comes home tomorrow, and for once I can finish the car. I may be looking to all of you to help source and locate parts that may have been taken, or stuff that I need.

It could have been worse I guess. I'm crossing my fingers the car remains ok till I can get there to pick her up.

I'll keep all of you updated.

Get it out of there as fast as you can, I know of 2 guys that lost their cars that way. They went to get them, and they were already gone.

That sucks to hear man. I agree with Ron Jerem... er, I mean Dave, I would get it out of there absolutely ASAP. You know your Maverick brothers have got your back if you come up short on anything when reassembling the car. That's going to be a damn nice car. (y)

ok. got the mav back, and pretty much all the crap that went with it too.

Gonna need a TON of stuff....there isn't a screw on the entire car besides what's needed to hold the fenders and doors on.

chrome bumpers need to be re chromed, as does the rest of the trim.

how much does it run to re chrome bumpers and trim pieces??

I'll post new pics up later.

2 small bumpers between $400-600. Trim price will vary I'd say for the boomer rangs probably $100-120.

The window trim is stainless and can be polished/buffed.
