Hello everyone, I am a Maverick owner and would love to learn more about what I can do with my car! My plans are to make a mild street machine, I really want to learn how to work on cars with this project. I have mainly worked on my 02 acura, doing mild mods, but I have always been a muscle car fan, and I got this vehicle from my father. I have a strait 6, 3 speed on the wheel, 1974 maverick. I would like to put a 302 into the car with a rock solid transmission. I am flirting with the idea of fuel injection but I'm not sold that it is worthy it for me. Cosmetically I would love to add some grabber feel to the car as I like the subtle but sporty feel of it. Thanks for all the future help!
Welcome from Va,try to find an 86 Mustang 302 w/ wiring harness.EFI mtr w/ about 300 hp,would make an easy driver without having to work on it a lot once built.Get an early 70s model c4 w/ good clutches & shift kit w/ at least 2800 stall conv,a 9 in rear w/ 3.50s or 3.70 gears & your on your way,fun reliable street car.
