hay, does anybody have any feeback on the upgrade they did on spike tv power block. if i remember they tapped the back of the block with a y and ran 2 tubes to the second and third cam bearing.. anybody have the full specs on what they did? i tried to find it on the internet but no luck. i was thinking of doing this mod while i have the engine out and rebuilding. i am going to install a 7 qt front oil pan and hv oil pump. thanks
If you are going to be racing the engine above 6-7000 rpm it is definitely worth it. If this is a daily driver that rarely sees 3000 rpm then it is just a way to spend money that won't do anything for you. If your use falls between those two examples then it is of little value and a lot of work.
i did this to my 351-m cause they suffer on getting any oil to cam bearings in the back but i didnt have to make holes just unscrew one
No point doing it on a 289/302. On a Cleveland, you can just run an external line from the front oil pressure port (above the fuel pump) to the rear port just behind the intake to equalize the flow to the rear mains. If you're going to be spinning a Cleveland to 7-8 grand, then you can tap into the rear mains directly.
