My belts have a case of the squeaks. Looking at the pulleys it seems my harmonic balancer is out too far... Whats the easy answer to fixing this?
Kind of hard to see in the pics. Looks like the pic is on an angle to me. If the Balancer has moved out, you either need to replace the balancer or you have a crank problem. I'd take a pry bar and see if the whole crank moves. If so it's time for a rebuild, or a different engine. They also make a spray that eliminates squeaks. Or new belts, if they can't be tightened. I'm with Don on this one check your crankshaft end play try to move the crankshaft in and out common for thurst bearing to wear and cause crank to walk forward which would make your pulleys be out of line if you let it go to long the crank will be junk
thanks for the tips... Im thinking it might actually be the water pump. All the other pulleys line up cept the pump..
