I was chatting with the owner. He painted it 4 years ago. still working out the engine. He has a few projects he is working on. That mav sure is a blast from the past.
Looks like a life size Hot Wheels car! I can respect the amount of effort that went into it, but... it's definitely not my cup of tea.
Old School The big tires, big shackles, and rake remind me of my first Maverick. (when I was 18) You always had to watch out when you made a turn when it was raining. The back end of the car would want to swing right around.
The roof? What's up with the roof? It looks like he may have sectioned the center piece of a hood on to the roof? The paint job looks good for a early 70's period correct style. I dig it.
Thats what I thought, i keep looking at it on the tiny 17" screen here at work and I am trying to figure out if it is a hood welded on or an optical illusion "dillusion" from the paint.
Nevermind, I see it now, it is a sectioned hood on the roof!! different and subtle. If anyone had told me they did that, I would think it would look crazy before seeing it!
roof I think there is definitely a center section of a hood grafted on to the roof. Look at the back of the roof. (One of the pictures towards the end) Plus the peak of the roof is different from a stock roof,
Wow! I agree, looks like a hood to me. Definitely looks like a paint job straight outa the 70's. Took some time!
He he just noticed there is a little stick on scoop in front of the rear tires in the first couple of pics but not on the rest of the pics. Still its a good looking 73
