Went through 2 windshields yesterday trying to put them in.:slap: :cussing:
:49: Glad I didnt have anything in them...

I was doing great with the first one till the final corner then it went "CRACK":hmmm:... I wasnt too worried because I had a spare. Cleaned it up, Installed the new gasket inserted the rope in the channel and lubed it up this time and placed it on the car. This one didnt even make it to the first turn...
Split all the way up the middle...:hmmm::cussing:
So a call to the local glass shop and they will be out on friday with the NEW one with the install people. (I'll stay far away from this one). $212.00 and they come out and put it in, I dont think thats too bad..Jerry

P>S> I just wanted the experience, Didnt know learning cost soo much:90:

sometimes it's cheaper to get the experience by watching someone who knows what they are doing. :) sorry about the 2 windshields.

I kind of thought it would be easier to the put the gasket on the windshield and then glue the whole thing to the car. That's what I thought when I was taking it out anyway.

I agree with the above post, proper way would be to put the gasket on the windshield, install nylon cord into gasket channel, set the bottom channel of the windshield into the car and use the rope to pull in the seal.

The pro will make it look easy. Sounds like a deal for a windshield installed.
