Hey Guys I am in the process of taking my maverick to Maier Racing to get this Panhard Bar kit Installed I talked to the owner of the place and they told me that it is a direct weld in unit. Was wondering what you guys think? Do you guys think it would be worth it? Here are the links to the kit.
its a 70 maverick with a roller 302 and a cam for now but planning on changing control arms and Front suspension. Also in the process of getting all parts together to do 5 speed conversion. Stock suspension now its all new but stock.
I am also looking at these upper control arms but a bit pricey for just reinforced control arms at $530. The global west tubular are 600. the lower reinforced are $180 each.
Im not sure what you mean by worth it. Do you already have a 4 link suspension on your car? Rear axled cars dont need those, they are for 4 link rear suspension setups only.
a pan hard can help a rear leaf spring car but not much. it creates a bind because the springs arch in a forward motion and the pan hard bar arches in a sideways motion. the correct way to stop the side loading on the rear end is with a watslink type rear. google it if you dont know what it is. i have found that replacing the leafspring bushings with, polyuritane, aluminum, or global wests delalum bushings gives a really good improvement for the prevention of side loading in the rear. leaf springs naturaly like to keep the diff centered. the only thing that allows them not to is the soft rubber bushings. puting polyuritane bushings in is alot cheaper than that panhard bar and probly more effective.
