I had seen a 71 Grabber in town a few months ago. Talked with the kid and he informed me that he had three more at home. I finally got out there, well the kid was long gone. Dad kicked him out, he jetted with the 71 Grabber. Anyways, I asked the guy if I could check out the other three he had out back. First one, 69.5 totalled, some usable parts. Second one, 74 ok condition, 250 motor and tranny. Third one, 70 with grabber wing, sport mirror, air conditioning, power steering and grabber stripe. Missing passenger fender and front clip. Interior is in need of repair, mouse crap all over the place. I showed my interest on the 70. He asked what I would give him for it. Couple Hundred was my reply. Then he asked me if I would give him 400 for the whole lot. I got them all home, ordered a Marti Report for the 70 to confirm if it is a Grabber or just ordered heavy with options. I will post pics and info when I get my Marti.

These kind of stories make me wish I had more room here ... and more cash ... I'd be a dangerous man ... :rofl2:

    Nice grab!

On that 70, look to see if it is a 91 or a 93 in the VIN ... 93 is Grabber.

i figure if it isnt a grabber, hell the parts that are there are worth what I paid for the whole lot. I plan on taking the motor and tranny out of the 74 and rebuilding them, then putting them into the 70.

Sorry ... so many differences in the early cars ... hard to remember them all at times. ;)

The 69.5's had a VIN for a 1970 Maverick. Pretty sure that Ford squeezed in 17-18 months worth of production for the 1970 model year.

Yup, Production started March 17 1969, thats why I asked the month. I have the start-up & planning manuals from St.Thomas.

70 grabbers had an all black vinyl interior - 1A I think is the code - look at your door tag, that interior looks tan in the picture but it may have been changed.

Nice score whatever they are for $400 ................. :thumbs2:
