I am looking for some pictures of your caltracs set up install perferably around the forward mounting point on the inboard side. Looking to see how much room between the plate and sheetmetal around the torque box.

    Thanks

I think you will be fine. Your connectors stay right on the frame rails, and your Caltracs will not interfere.

Here is a pic of mine, with tubular connectors.

Holler if you need a shot from another angle.

I think the only thing that may interfere with the frame connector is the bolt head. I'm also installing cal-tracs and plan to have frame connectors so this is of interest to me as well.

The bolt is close, now that you mention it. Mine is not a problem because of the tubular connectors. Square tubing would get it a bit more crowded.

Hard angle to take a pic of...

That black tube at the top right corner is my connector.

I will post some pictures of the caltrac bracket setup tomorrow. I have my caltrac set up in hand and after talking to Scooper I believe it will fit as long as I use the lower hole on the bracket, which it looks like everyone running the caltracs is using. The only issue is if there is any overhang from the subframe connector into the leaf spring hanger box. If there is any issues with that I need to find it now while I can fix it. It is going to be a major pain to have to repaint the area but but know than when the whole car is painted.

Hey scooper, looks like yours fit with no problem. what brand are your frame connectors? Do they have a bracket that wraps around the frame in the back?

Mine are homemade by fan2488. He made a couple sets out of galvanized tubing, and gave them away, not liking the galvanizing. I ground it all off and put POR-15 on them. No brackets, just welded to the subframes. Here are "before" pics.

Due to a potential issue that was brought up by a member about possible clearance issues with the caltracs traction system and the weld on subframe connectors, I went a did a trial fit and took some pictures.

I was immediately concerned that I did not leave enough room by looking at the pictures I had taken of the bottom of the Maverick. From the feedback I received from other members that had installed the caltracs system we all figured it would be close.

After taking the bracket portion of the set up and temporarily installing it, our hypothisis was correct and it was close but not as close as I thought. The good news was that if fit and it will work well. The only thing you will have to take into concideration is that you will more than likely have to install the lower traction arm heim at the lowest hole (Do not order the low profile plates, they will not work with this set up) and install the bolt with the bolt head from the inboard side of the bracket so it will clear the subframe connector.

I also notice that there is enough space between the bracket and spacer to place a shim (washer) to move the assembled bracket inboard or outboard if needed.

Here are some pictures of the bracket temporarily installed:

    Whew! Closer than I thought.

Mine has just a touch more clearance because of the round tubing. But not much more.

    Glad yours fit!!! :thumbs2:

Definitely something to take into consideration for anyone planning on running cal-tracs with subframe connectors (like me!). May be a good idea to install the cal-tracs first or at the same time. Once the connectors are welded in it's a little too late.
