Hey guys, haven't posted progress shots in a while.... well, it's because my uncle had it, and was laying down some paint. Tell me what you think. It's PPG Copperhead on top, and PPG Galaxy Silver Metallic on bottom.

These pictures were taken 5 days after I got it back from paint, so I haven't had time to clean the bumpers up nice (until they get swapped to small), put my emblem on my gas cap, or put the chrome pieces around the windows. I got it back from my glass guy 30 minutes before leaving for the show that these pictures were taken at. While the glass was out, I had a new headliner put in. Then the glass guy put new front and rear glass in.

This car show was in Dewey, OK. It was the Stray Kat 500. I drove her there and back (over 1100 miles round-trip) and it didn't hiccup once! I got about 11 MPG out of my 351W.

As me and my buddy pulled into Bartlesville (about 7 miles north of Dewey), we stopped to fill them up before getting to the hotel. As we pulled into the gas station, my buddy jumped out of his car (I'm posting a picture of his '53 Ford with a race Flathead) and went to pop his hood just to check things over, and he said to me as I was getting out of the Maverick "Hey Eric, there is another Maverick!!" I looked behind me, and a guy had pulled up on his way out of the parking lot, and yelled through the open passenger window "Hey man, nice Maverick!" and gave me the biggest thumbs up I've seen in a while. The cool part is that he was in a Yellow '75 four door Maverick!

I got a great response from people at the car show. It was kinda suited towards Rat Rods, but there were plenty of "newer" cars. I had a few offers to buy it from me, and most everyone that walked by said "Man, I had one just like it." They'd ask me to crank it up, and those same people would back up and say "Noooo, mine wasn't quite like THAT."

Alot of people thought it was a '74-'75, which made me feel good, because maybe the bumpers don't look THAT big. Then again, maybe they do.

After painting it, I had to bend my uncle's arm to put the big bumpers back on it.... I wish I would've had the time to mock up the small bumpers, but I needed new glass and a headliner put in before this show.

The first one is a picture right after it was cleared and before reassembly. The rest are from the show.

Notice how the pinstripe frames in the taillight panel. He painted all of those pieces with them OFF of the car, and the lines line up perfectly. Also, I love that he painted the chrome frames on the taillights. He said with them chrome, they looked like sore thumbs.

Well, let me know what y'all think!!

    -Eric

Thats a good looking tutone, nice job.Don't know your wheel plans, but that'd look killer hunkered down over 17" torque thrusts.

Man, the quality on those pictures are killing me, they don't do the paint justice. I have a set of 17" Cobra R wheels sitting in the garage waiting to be mounted. It was between those and the Torq Thrusts though....
