Hey everybody. So I've finally said enough is enough when it comes to these stupid rebuilt vane type ford power steering pumps. I swear, Cardone is probably the worst remanufacturing company in the world when it comes to this stuff. I've replaced the stock Power Steering pump roughly 6-7 times with a new filter and fluid every single time. I've had differing reactions. One actually worked for almost a year! But the past 3 I've gotten do nothing. The latest one I've gotten made a whine the second it started turning, but after bleeding actually supplied me with power steering for roughly a full 10 minutes before it stopped pumping.. My question is, if anybody has ever just changed to a nice gear type pump, which one did they go with? Are there any that fit in the original mounting holes just fine? Or am I the only one that has issues with the rebuilt pumps and I'm doing something wrong?
