i was woundering if i could use my power steering pump as a dead pully by takeing these parts out of the preeser hose side of the pump i beleve they are presser valve & spring & put the hose bung back in,i was told by doing so the presser would be low enuf to hook the presser hose directly to the return side of the pump & as long as i keep fluid in it will it be ok.im doing away with the power steering put need the pully there for the belt set up im running :hmmm:http://mmb.maverick.t ryhjry_original.jpg o/photo_popup.php?e=vB_Editor_001# nhrtyj_original.jpg

I'm not sure if you could or not do that, I would be concerned with the heat that could potentialy build up with the fluid in a small closed loop environment such as that. With that being said... I am running a March performance AC PS eliminator setup on my Maverick. It works like a charm. you still maintain the serpentine setup it just moves the tensioner to the other side of the engine. I got it from Jegs, part number #655-1460 for $44. Jegs does also sell thier spin off now for $30.99 that is part number #555-50550.

Send me a PM with your email and I can send you a short vid and pics of the setup in action.

As long as there is no regulator valve the oil will just flow in the closed loop. It could get warm but you can beat that by running it through a small cooler.

It will be fine as long as it isn't being used to provide pressure to anything. The pressure will be released internally to the pump reservoir if the hose is not big enough to take the volume but there is no restriction on it so it won't matter.
